So long 2011!

HELLO 2012!

Not only are we entering 2012 but we are also entering the third trimester!  I am sooo thrilled to meet this sweet little boy and of course I want whats best for him, so that means he needs to keep baking for 12 more weeks but man am I ready to not be pregnant.  That sounds terrible and I'm sure all you out there are saying "gosh she's going to be a terrible mom" but come on...these back aches, sleepless nights, growing belly (and everything else), not being able to enjoy ice cream, eating 10 oz. steaks (yea the whole thing, plus the potato and rolls), trying to catch my breath, superman punches, karate kid kicks, and my mouth always having that nasty acid taste...yea I'm ready for that part to be over.  So yes, the third trimester sounds good to me...it's closer to meeting this little mountain baby.  So for the next 12 or so weeks I'll put up with whatever else pregnancy is going to throw my way (hope Matt can handle it)...

Here is a picture from this past monday...
Yes I'm huge!

Like I said, I can't wait to meet this crazy hyper active little boy (yes i'm assuming that he's hyper since he never really stops moving).  I can't wait to see what God has made, I can't wait to watch him grow and learn, and I can't wait to see what God teaches Matt and I through this amazing blessing.  I know I complain about pregnancy but I feel truly blessed that God trusts me with His child.  I mean really...my parents had a hard time with trusting me with a dog or cell phone or anything else just a few years ago (ok almost 10 years ago but few sounds better)...and now God is giving me a kid!?!  Crazy!  Oh well, He knows what He's doing, now it's just up to Matt and I to glorify Him and do the best we possibly can.

Well, anyways...Bring it on 2012!!  I think I'm ready!  Or atleast I hope I am.

Happy New Years to all my friends and family!  LOVE YOU ALL!

Christmas

Sooo yea TWO blogs in one day!!

This Christmas, Matt and I decided after all the traveling we've been doing the past two months that maybe it would be good to stick around here for Christmas.  So we spent our WHITE Christmas here.  Lucky for us one of the wyldlife girl's family came to Colorado so we surprised her.  Her family knew we were coming but Ashton had no idea.  They told her that fedex was dropping off a present for her so we rang the door bell and SURPRISE it wasn't fed ex.  You can watch the video on facebook, but I think she was shocked!  We spent the next two days with her and her family, it was pretty great!

We also celebrated Matt's birthday that week.   He turned 28 this year (ohhh myyy he's soooo close to the big 3-0).  Last year he was a little disappointed in his birthday present (due to the fact that I got him a Christmas cd and shoes he picked out and as he says, paid for haha) so I surprised him with an ipod nano.  I'm pretty sure he was expecting something terrible because he seemed a little surprise.  I really wish I had filled his nano with Christmas music but oh well...maybe next time.  I also got him the most expensive pizza I could find!  It was seriously $30!!!  But since it was a special occasion and it's his ultimate favorite food, I went ahead and got it.  Let's just say...it was massive!  I froze some so it's kind of like the pizza that keeps giving.

Then of course there was Christmas.   I must say I'm so excited about next year's Christmas that this year it was hard for me to get into it.  Anyways, best gifts of the year....
How's it possible that he's almost 30??

It was hard to decide between the coke and the Tim Tebow shirt....

And of course a little Pinterest Christmas Breakfast!  Was going to make monkey bread but ran out of butter haha.
Anyways, Christmas was great...just like always.  How could it not be great...we get to celebrate our savior and  the whole gifts thing!?!  Next year looks like we'll be spending Christmas with our amazing little boy and the family!  I'm already soo excited...too bad we have to wait a year!

Another long drive.

So Dad flew to Houston to help me drive the 1053 miles from Texas to Colorado.  It was definitely a long drive and one I've made a few too many times.  Adding the whole being pregnant part and that adds a million restroom breaks and snack stops.  Anyways here are a few pictures from our drive...
We stopped at the Ft. Worth Stockyards.  Who knew cows could be so interesting!?

I had to teach this guy how it's really done...he felt like an idiot after a prego out did him!
Dad was pretty grumpy the whole drive ;)

In Amarillo we saw some old Cadillacs...weird.
The driving didn't end when we got to Colorado.  We ended up exploring for the next three days.  It was fun but oh my I was ready to crash afterwards.
Yes, that's chocolate bacon.  Good ol' Rocky Mountain Chocolate factory.  P.S.  I don't recommend it!

Garden of the Gods

Oh yea, Baby Dees has already been to 14,110 ft!!

And of course Matt has to mess with Sasquatch!

And lastly, ARE YOU KIDDING ME!?!

I need to take way more pictures!

Well my last weeks in Texas came and went entirely too fast.

I spent my last days in Texas eating great food, visiting with amazing friends, hanging out with the best Younglife and Wyldlife girls in the world, and of course crying every time I thought about the fact that i was moving.  My amazing friends in Texas threw me two showers before I left.   I say me but aren't they really for baby Dees?  Oh well...that's for another day.  I of course brought my camera to both of them but it's kind of hard taking pictures when you're preoccupied with amazing food and friends.  So here I am, almost a month later with no pictures from one shower and only a few from the other.  Sad day...

Well here are two pictures from the shower my 8th grade Wyldlife girls threw me.  It was such a fun shower and seriously I should probably take pictures of every onesie they made for little man...yes MADE!  They are AWESOME!

Thanks girls for all the presents and for just being awesome!  I miss you all like cray-cray!!  Love you all!

And here are the awesome High School leaders (plus a few).  Oh Clare and Maggie... :)

Probably the hardest thing I've ever done is say bye to these girls.  I know it's not really "bye" but knowing I won't see them at least once a week is definitely hard!!  Love you girls!

Texas, you changed my life (and waist line) with your amazing cajun food, brisket, loving people, rodeos, and humidity.   Thanks for giving Matt and I a pretty great first 2 years of marriage!  Don't worry, we won't be seperated for long...I'll be visiting soon!

Two days in a row...

Are you all like soo excited that I blogged two days in a row!?!  I guess it doesn't really make up for 6 months of nothing but "hey what can I say...I'm trying"

Mellow Mushroom was delicious but baby Dees just wasn't so sure about it.  I thought the indigestion was going to kill me.  Oh well, it was a fun date anyways.

So we ended week 18 in the mountains of Colorado while trying to find a place to live.  After two weeks without being sick, the altitude brought it all back...let's just say I was not a happy camper!  Anyways, We decided to take belly bump pictures in the Rocky Mountains only to prove John Denver knows what he's talking about!

So this is week 18 and like 5 days or something...

I move somewhere that actually has winter and now all my favorite winter clothes don't cover my belly...awesome.

Matt was trying to fish the real man way, it didn't work out that well.

Matt tried to convince people that this is the view from our apartment window...unfortunately it's not.

So, due to the move and having to change all my appointments, I convinced Matt we had to find out the gender of the baby before I went crazy.  I don't know why I wasn't able to wait any longer but I just simply wasn't.  So we went to this ultrasound place that is located in a strip mall...yes a strip mall.  I know, it completely sounds sketchy but come on...I HAD TO KNOW!

Anyways...

Yes, Baby Dees is officially a BOY and I'm officially excited to finally know the gender!  We are super excited about having a boy but I'm not going to lie, I'm a little nervous.  I hate bugs, snakes, baseball, dinosaurs, farts, frogs, and well most things that little boys seem to find interesting.  What will I do if my son wants to start a bug collection, or wants a pet snake...oh dear.  This is going to be interesting...

So that brings us to this past week.  November 9th, Matt and I loaded the few things the movers didn't take and started the 18 hour drive to Denver.  Being pregnant, of course, made this drive so much longer since it seems like every 30 minutes I have to "excuse" myself.  I was thankful for every clean restroom between Houston and Denver!

We got to Denver on the 10th, the movers unloaded our stuff the 11th and Matt started work on the 14th.  It was a crazy week but a good week.  Matt seems to like his new job and we definitely love our new city!

Today I'm heading back to Texas for three weeks to finish up the semester with Wyldlife and Younglife.  It won't be fun being away from Matt for so long but I'm excited to be able to spend the next three weeks with some of my very favorite Texans.  When I get back, I hope to have tons of pictures to share with you guys!

To end this post, I'll leave you with the picture we took on Tuesday...we had to improvise and use what we had and well we had PLENTY of boxes.

Well, Well, Well...

So, yes like I've said before I'm officially the worst blogger ever!  But that's besides the point...

Let's recap over everything that has happened since I last blogged...

At the end of July, the 20th to be exact, Matt and I discovered that we are pregnant (well that I am pregnant but whatever)...yes PREGNANT!

The following months were filled with morning sickness...ohhh the morning sickness.  Why do they call it morning sickness?  I felt fine in the mornings but bring on 9 p.m.  I will forever hate that hour.  Thank goodness I have the sweetest husband ever who eventually learned that watching me get sick wasn't fun but a glass of water was very appreciated.

Matt and I both worked and planned, and planned and worked.  Wyldlife and Young Life was definitely keeping me busy.  We were beginning the process of buying a house and of course I was day dreaming of decorating a baby's room.  But ohh how God laughs when we try to plan...  A week after Matt told his work that we were expecting, he was laid off (special shot out to Obama and his plans for NASA, thanks for that man).  Yea, that was a scary moment but don't worry, God completely had this under control.  A little less than two weeks later Matt got an interview with Shell.  He knew nothing about the oil and gas industry but that didn't stop Shell from HIRING him!!  A couple of weeks later we found ourselves searching for a place to live in DENVER, CO!

So we officially moved to Denver a week ago.  It has been a crazy whirlwind of a couple of months but we are here and Matt is working again!  We are super sad to leave all the friends we made while in Texas but it was definitely a God thing that got us here so we are excited for this next chapter.

Anyways, I thought I would bring the blog back as a way to share pictures of our new life in Colorado for all those that want to know about it.  (so probably just my mom and dad)

We'll start with week 17's belly pictures...yes I'm following the crowd on this one and taking pictures of my growing belly!

Adjusting to the growing belly thing, not necessarily my favorite part of pregnancy
Trying to work that belly

Kona will need a major attitude adjustment before little Dees gets here

Don't let this face worry you...
He's excited!

So I promise I won't write that much every again, I know it's hard to correct my grammar mistakes.

Anyways, I promise to blog again very soon but now my awesome husband is taking me to Mellow Mushroom for dinner...Well as soon as Mississippi State wins this basketball game.

P.S. Houston, you need a Mellow Mushroom!

Warning: I am not a writer

I know this isn't my normal blog and I am in no way a writer but I wanted to share this...

I'm doing a study on Paul which lead me to the story of Stephen.  Stephen was just your normal, power and grace filled guy (ok maybe thats not normal).  Some guys from the Snagogue of the Freedmen didn't like what Stephen was up to, they didn't really know how to take the whole being filled with the Holy Spirit thing so they ended up having him accused of blasphemy and stoned him.  But before this happened, Stephen had a pretty great speech (Acts 7), I won't get into the speech but I encourage you to read it yourself.  Acts 6:15 "And fixing their gaze on him, all who were sitting in the Council saw his face like the face of an angel."   So Stephen was soo filled with the Holy Spirit that he actually had the face of an angel before sharing his story.  That's a pretty amazing way for God to show that He was on Stephen's side.  I don't know about you but I can't even imagine what this would be like.  This happened to Moses in Exodus 34:29 "when Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the covenant law in his hands, he was not aware that his face was radiant because he had spoken WITH the Lord."  I am just soo amazed by this.  I don't really know why, I mean seriously, we know God can do anything, but to take on the look of an angel just by speaking with the Holy Spirit, how awesome.  I am so very thankful to serve a God like this.  I am so very thankful for a personal relationship with this AMAZING GOD.

So I will update my blog soon, sorry for being such a terrible blogger!

Epic Fail

I named this epic fail because that's what I would consider my blogging.

Things have been CRAZY lately!  I am now working for YOUNGLIFE!!!!!  Which is like an answer to every prayer I've had since I was in middle school but it has kept me pretty busy.  I've also been keeping up with the Royal family, doing a little babysitting, taking a few pictures, working out (oh yea, i need to be skinny in 6 weeks...), and well tons of other non important things.

So I'm going to try to get caught up...

Matt and I photographed a sponge bob themed birthday party a while back and well some of the pictures are just too cute not to share.   The party was soo fun because kids were actually smiling!  Normally when photographing kids it's soo hard to keep their attention or get them to smile but these kids couldn't keep the smiles off their faces.   Matt and I had a lot of fun and I hope that in the future we get to do more!

Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the day!  Of course I'm not showing you near enough to explain how awesome the day was but this is a start...

Birthday Boy!

Davion is 4!

Little Sister!

So that's it for today but I have a lot more coming... as of right now I must go get ready for the WILCO concert tonight!!!  If you're asking yourself "who is Wilco" you need to be checking them out asap... http://www.wilcoworld.net/

Peace and Blessings (haha Jessica)!!!

Kelsey Came to TEJAS!

Well it has been an incredibly long time since I last blogged but I have an excuse!!

I have had the busiest, craziest three weeks or so ever!  I have missed you dear blog I really have.  Kelsey was suppose to come for a few days but ended up staying a week, and then instead of her flying home to Tennessee I drove her!  I ended up spending a week in Tennessee.  I got back on Friday so I've been back a week and I'm just now feeling like I've caught up...ridiculous!

Anyways, Kelsey had a super hard time getting to Houston.  She was suppose to fly from Atlanta to Houston on Sunday but due to using a Buddy Pass through Delta and being like 24th on the priority list the closest she could get here was Baton Rouge on Monday!  So being the sweet friend I am, I drove to Baton Rouge to pick her up.  She planned on leaving Thursday but there was pretty much no way she could possibly get back to Atlanta and then to make it to Knoxville could have been a nightmare.  SOOO we decided I'd just drive her to Tennessee but due to some plans I already had we couldn't leave till Sunday.  It ended up being a great two weeks but goodness was it busy!  Well here are some pictures of our week in Houston.

P.S. this is probably the longest blog post I'll ever do...

Kelsey made it!

Our drive back...
